Monday and Tuesday’s stories

The skies told stories on Monday and Tuesday of this week, as they do every day.

Monday’s story was spoken in brilliant, bold hues.

Softer, gentler hues were used for Tuesday’s.

But both spoke of new mercy, grace, and the unfailing compassion of the One who made and sustains all. These themes are repeated daily. Do you hear them?

stop sign at sunrise

At sunrise or any other time,
the meaning of the stop sign is the same.
This is also true for the word, “No.”
Spoken in a shout or a whimper,
its meaning is unchanged.

i crossed the street

The typical route for my morning walk is a right turn out of my yard, followed by a left turn at the head of the cul-de-sac, then remaining on the same side of the street until I return home. Today, however, I crossed the street when I arrived at the head of the cul-de-sac. With that simple choice, I did something different and enjoyed the outcome immensely, primarily because of the images visible from that vantage point. The lesson for me is that doing something different does not have to be a major event. What about you? What is one small or simple thing you can do differently today?
