The photos below are of portions of an overpass on a frequently used highway. Walking beneath it one overcast Saturday morning, I looked up and took note of the structures that are not visible to those driving on the overpass but without which the overpass would not exist. They were doing what they were designed to do, without fanfare.

Raindrops
hung on the spider’s web
like fairy lights.
Whimsical.

raindrops and wonder
the rain’s canvas
It cleaned and created while I slept but the artistry on the leaves revealed that they had served as a canvas for the rain.
3,000 words
“One picture is worth a thousand words,” goes the saying described as a Chinese proverb and attributed to other sources. On Tuesday, January 19, 2021, here are three photographs or 3,000 words. ☺
once I might have sat a spell
In pre-COVID days
I might have sat a spell,
breathe deep,
exhaled,
and soaked up the morning sunshine.
In the current season,
I noticed the park bench,
but kept on walking,
masked,
delayed taking a deep breath
until I reached the safety of my car,
but still soaked up the morning sunshine.
ingredients of a snow entity
I am not sure it the intent was to create a snowbeing but creativity failed, or if the goal all along was to keep things simple by creating a huge snowball.
Whatever the plan, the entity stood watch at the top of my cul-de-sac for days.
Today, its size was significantly reduced, and the entity disclosed that some of its ingredients were leaves and blades of grass.
gift
I stepped outdoors
to stretch,
move,
breathe fresh air,
feel the sunshine.
Without intent,
I noticed and voiced the reality that the last of the snow which had lingered in shaded corners of my yard was gone.
Or so I thought…
Then upon my second walk-around,
I noticed a small amount.
Yes!!
And bent low to capture it,
with gratitude.
