Dry days with temperatures in the high 90s have been the norm where I live. I woke up this morning remembering the sound of rain but thought I had only dreamed of rain. Not so, as the evidence seen during my morning walk revealed.

for the ordinary

I had captured the view several times during my walk but not with the sense of wonder that I have felt in similar moments. Turning toward home, I heard several questions within: “Can you be thankful that you can see? That the skies are not obscured by the smoke from forest fires? Can you be thankful instead of shrugging in the presence of a sky you deem ordinary?” Forgive my ingratitude, Father, my-taking-things-for-grantedness.

Cee’s Which Way Challenge

This is my entry for Cee’s Which Way challenge. Cee describes the challenge as being “all about capturing the roads, walks, trails, rails, steps, signs, etc. we move from one place to another on. You can walk on them, climb them, drive them, ride on them, as long as the specific way is visible. Any angle of a bridge is acceptable as are any signs.” The first three photos are of my favorite walking trails in a local park.
